He was predeceased by: his parents, James Irvin Atkins and Bertie Ethel Mann; his wife Sylvia Anne Allen; and his siblings, Rex Atkins and Margie Welker.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Atkins (Janette), Scott Atkins, Dianne Rye (Les) and Suzanne Havens (Greg); and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Tyler, Laura, Jared, Jenna, Katelyn, Ryan, Taylor and Delaney. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
