He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward T. McLain and Blanche Mitchell McLain; his sister Shirley McLain; and his parents-in-law, Gale and Cora Bledsoe Roller.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda Roller McLain; his sons, Donald "Donnie" A. McLain (Laura) and Kevin M. McLain (Ashley); his siblings, Ileen Fletcher, Dorothy Summers (Lanny), William McLain and Edward McLain (Joyce); his grandchildren, Megan Smith (Wesley), Emily McLain, Leah McLain, Carter McLain, Jake McLain, Matt McLain and Luke McLain; and his aunts, Naomi Blevins, Lola Henry and Brenda McLain. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, lots of friends.
