He was predeceased by: his grandson Hunter Taylor; his parents-in-law, Malcolm and Winnie Monroe; and his sisters, Dana Light, Carolyn Taylor and Kathy Taylor.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Monroe Taylor; his son Jeffrey Taylor (Tina); his granddaughters, Santanna and Mia Taylor; his siblings, Rev. Charlie Taylor (Jerry), Mary Sims and Pauline Gates (Bob); and his nephew Mike Taylor (Angie).

Due to the COVID19 pandemic there will only be a military graveside service on April 30, 2020, at Holston View Cemetery.
