He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Cody; and his father Robert M. Whiston. He is survived by: his sons, Jeffery Hicks of Florida and Jeremy Whiston of Church Hill; and his siblings, Vada Katherne Johnson of Jefferson City, Louise Murr (Johnny) of Knoxville, Melinda Collins (Joe) of North Carolina, Robert Whiston, Jr. of Jefferson City and Roger Whiston of North Carolina.
