He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Monroe and Aurora Monroe; his wife Jeannette Monroe; and his siblings, Shirley Greear, Donald and Kelly Monroe.

He is survived by: his siblings, Paul Monroe (June) and Margaret Nichols. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
