She was predeceased by: her mother Nannie Pearl; her former husband Carl Leeman Johnson; her husband "Sonny" Carroll of Texas; her father Elbert Dewey Lyons; and her siblings, James Lyons, Danny Lyons, Bill Lyons, Norma Robinette, Dorothy Sullivan, Louise Stanley, Vernon Lyons, Elbert D. Lyons Jr., Bob Lyons, Naomi Lyons and Clifford Lyons.

She is survived by: her daughter Pam Simpson; her son-in-law J. R. Simpson; her grandchildren, Chad Simpson, Sarah Kindle (Simpson) and Jesse Simpson; her great grandchildren, Asher Kindle and Jaxson Simpson; and her sister Margaret L. Hubbard. She is also survived by in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
