It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edna Odell Thompson of Church Hill, Tennessee, who passed away on October 9, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Steve Ward and Roberta Barrett Rynes; her husband John A. Thompson; her children, Michael Thompson, Connie Thompson and Denise Simpson (Billy); her siblings, Howard Ward and Hazel Jobe (Rob); and her brother-in-law Paul Marshall.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Melissa Hughey and Jason Smith (Pam) of Greeneville; her great grandchildren, Michael Smith (Sara), Gwendalin Smith, Madison Smith and Josiah Smith; her great great grandchildren, Augustus Smith, Eden Smith and Jericho Smith; her sister Alice Marshall of Greeneville; and her stepfather Grady Rynes. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
