He was predeceased by: his father Robert L. May; his father-in-law Carl O'Dell, Jr.; and his brothers-in-law, Dennis Kirkpatrick, Thomas Whittaker and Byrd Preston.
He is survived by: his wife Karen O'Dell May; his children, Adam May of Johnson City, TN, Elizabeth May of Church Hill, TN and Brad May (Candice) of Gray, TN; his mother Sherrye Deyerle May; his grandchildren, Aiden May, Liam May and Gavin May; his sister Suzanne Preston; his niece Rachel Nelson (Josh); his great-nephew Beckett Nelson; his mother-in-law Billie O'Dell Littrell; and his siblings-in-law, Debra Kirkpatrick, Sandra Whittaker, Jeff O'Dell and David O'Dell.
