He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smotherman and Mary Ellen Douglas Smotherman; his daughter Lea Smotherman; and his siblings, Patsy Lokey and Clyde Smotherman.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Smotherman (Amanda Faulk) and Nicole Smotherman Rae (Scott); his close friend Deanna Pearson; his grandchildren, Maci Smotherman, Ava Smotherman, Oaklynn Smotherman, Eli Rae, Lukas Rae, Shawna Taylor and Lauren Robertson; his great grandchildren, Aleigha Taylor, Aiden Taylor and Micah Taylor; and his brothers, Hollis Smotherman (Brenda) and Doug Smotherman (Terry). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
