William Pierce Obituary

He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Purdy Pierce (Lynn); his parents, May Bell and William G. Pierce; and his sister Diane Pierce Phillips. He is survived by: his brother Ken Pierce (Linda); his children, Joan Bruckman (Ricky) of Mount Vernon, IN and Dr. David Pierce (Kathleen) of San Diego, CA; and his grandson Carlos Bruckman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Bill authored numerous papers in computer science, electrical engineering, and medicine, and received many grants as principal investigator, including three from the National Science Foundation.
