He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Adams and Versa Adams; his brother Royce A. Adams; and his nephew Stephen Adams. He is survived by: his wife Katheryn M. Adams; his children, Michael M. Adams and Norma A. Clark (Tony); his grandchildren, Thomas Adams, Timothy Adams, Melanie A. Capps (Michael), Alexander Adams, James Adams, Heaven Clark and Amos Campbell; and his great grandchild Annabeth Capps.

He was a board member of Carter Bus Board and the Red Bank/ Soddy Daisy Charitable Foundation INC.
