It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tracy Glen Smitherman of Chattanooga, Tennessee, born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, who passed away on January 24, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda Ann Smitherman; his parents, Wheeler Smitherman, Jr. and Miriam Clay Smitherman; his stepfather Joel T. Smitherman; his sister Carolyn Smitherman; and his parents-in-law, W. T. and Ethel Hardwick.
He is survived by: his daughters, Shannon Ables (Charles) of Soddy Daisy, TN and Stacey Barry (Russell) of Hixson, TN; his grandchildren, Russell, Jr., Kylie, Macy Barry, Chase and Jacob Edge; his brother Joe; his sister-in-law Carol Smitherman of Shreveport, LA; and his sister Mary Whiteside of Pontotoc, MS. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
