He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Powell and Opal Powell; and his siblings, Lawrence, Jerry, Mallory and Sarah.

He is survived by: his wife Becky; his daughters, Teresa Gibson (Jeff), Ronda Moore (Kent) and Sheri Chamberlain (Tommy); and his grandson Scott Powell. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many extended family.
