It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Smith (Chattanooga, Tennessee), who passed away on October 8, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Petty and Rosa Mae Petty. She is survived by: her husband Tony Carpenter; her children, LaShon Powell (James) of Houston Texas, Timothy Petty of Ruckingen, Germany and Robert Smith, Jr. of Chattanooga; and her brother-in-law Clifford Taylor. She is also survived by nieces; nephews; cousins; and a host of many friends.
