With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sam Hugh Harlin Jr. of Chattanooga, Tennessee, born in Madison, Tennessee, who passed away on July 8, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Sam may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Sam touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Joyce Williamson Harlin; and his parents, Sam H. Harlin and Alyne Gill Harlin. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Tate Harlin; his sister Pat Boyle of Nashville, TN.; his children, Stephen Gregg (Deborah) of Lawrenceville, GA., Stuart Andrew (Paige) of Chattanooga and Dana Burleson (Tom) of Auburn, GA.; and his stepsons, Timothy Owings and Jeffrey Owings (Lori). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; two great grandsons; and three great granddaughters.
