He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Hughes and Patsy Jones Hughes of Madison, Alabama.; his grandson James Robert Baldwin; his wife Bertha Mae Russell Hughes; and his daughter Pamela Fern Hughes.
He is survived by: his daughter Linda Baldwin (James); his grandchildren, Angel Moore (Richard), Jonathan Baldwin, Stephen, Michael Kendricks, Harvey Daniels III (Rosalynn) of Alpharetta, GA, Nathaniel Robinson, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Natasha Luke (Marvin) and Richandra Broadnax (Martravous) of Murfreesboro, TN; his great grandchildren, Asha Larson-Baldwin, Mia Larson-Baldwin of Lexington, KY, Jaleah Kendricks of Nashville, TN, Michael Kendricks, Jr. of Wise, VA, Keydren Kendricks, Harper, Harvey IV, Hollister Daniels of Alpharetta, GA, Cameron Luke of Dallas, TX and McKenzie Kendricks; his great great grandchild Maliyah Broadnax of Murfreesboro, TN; and his sisters, Emma Holden and Alice Allison of Madison, AL.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the John P. Franklin Funeral Home (1101 Dodds Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404). A graveside service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at the Greenwood Cemetery (1954 Greenwood Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37406).
