He was predeceased by: his parent Henry Bires; his wife Corrinne Eshelman; and his brother William Bires. He is survived by: his parent Marie Kerevac; his sons, Mark Bires of Chicago, IL and Robert Bires of Chattanooga; and his grandchildren, Sean Bires, Cassidy Kraus, Kathleen Bires, Emma Bires of Nashville, TN and Molly Bires of Tel Aviv.
