He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Edith Green; his wife Norma; and his children, Tammi Mayo (Rex) and Richard Edison, Jr.. He was also cherished by 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a step-daughter, and a step-granddaughter.
