She was predeceased by: her grandson Charles Crawford Lewis; and her parents, William Owen Kenan and Caroline Smith Kenan. She is survived by: her husband Mattson D. Lewis; her children, Crawford Kenan Lewis (Sandi), Doniphan Wheeler Lewis and Mary Mattson Simmons (Whit); her granddaughter Caroline Reese Lewis; her siblings, Julia Kenan Willcox (Charles), Elizabeth Kenan Hamilton (Bill), Mary Owen Kenan Thames (Gordon) and James Kenan II (Melissa); her stepsiblings, Elizabeth Turner (Selwyn), Guy Hood (Lauren) and Carter Hood (Amanda); her stepmother Alice Kenan; and her cousin Lillian Buchanan Parker (Joe). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Baylor School or Second Wind Society in Reese's memory.
