With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Perlena Sanders (Chattanooga, Tennessee), born in Hiram, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 4, 2024 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Robert and Bernice Amijean Whitehead Kight; her husband Luther James Sanders; her sons, Walter Heulett, Jr. and Tyrone Heulett; and her sisters, Johnnie Mae Adams and Barbara Freeman.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Harrison and George Hewlett; her grandchildren, Shawanna Hines, Felecia Favors, Towan Whaley, Tyrosheina Norwood of Ooltewah, TN, Shiekqulia Smith of Cincinnati, OH, Rashad Parker, Kimberly Shackleford, Kalilah McLenmore and Tia Posely; her sister Elnora Kight Jackson of Chattanooga, TN; and her friend Sharon Coleman. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
