With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Patsy Black of Chattanooga, Tennessee, born in Cartersville, Georgia, who passed away on August 12, 2021 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Youles Bishop and Dora Lee Kimbrell Bishop; her husband Carlton Black; and her brother Jimmy Bishop. She is survived by: her sons, Rusty Howell (Michelle) and Jody Howell of Adairsville, GA; her grandchildren, Cagney Howell, Maggie Howell, Amanda Howell, Heather Bermeo (Luis), Grayson Howell and Dakota Howell; her siblings, Roy Bishop (Norma) of Tacoma, WA and Betty Barrow (Denver) of Glenville, GA; and her close friend Stanley Bird. She is also survived by sister in law, Margaret Floyd, NC; four great-grandchildren.

“Patsy, her sister Betty and I became best friends, we lived in the same neighborhood, no tree lined streets with sidewalks, we walked on dirt roads, we played in pine thickets, we swam in the creeks. We were creative in the playground we created.. I do not remember when our friendship started so long ago, but, it has never ended and someday we will meet again in the Elysian Fields of Heaven!!! We will walk with Jesus and sing with the Angels!! REST IN PEACE - My sweet friend............”
