He is survived by: his daughters, Lori Johnson Lawson (Kevin) and Stephanie Johnson Hodges (Darren); his granddaughter Alissa C. Hodges; and his sister Wilma Johnson Young.

“I am sad tp learn of Spencer passing. We grew up together, same grade in school, teamates in sports sang in a quartet with his brother Eugene and Tommy Kay Cannon. In 1966 I took him to his first professional baseball game, We also got season tickets to UT games and went to the Gator Bowl along with his cousin Fred Jones. I am honored to have him for a lifelong friend and can attest he was devout in his faith. Jim Roy, Ellijay, Georgia.”
