She was predeceased by: her parents, William Dean and Katharina Theis Shook; her husband John Francis Thornberry; her daughter Katharina A Thornberry; her siblings, Ida Jane Park and John Henry Shook; and her niece Joanne Katherine Beck.

She is survived by: her sons, John Thornberry and Mike Thornberry (Linda); her grandson Christopher Stoeckel of Germany; her sister-in-law Betty Jo Shook of Cooper Heights; her nephews, Mark Shook (Jeanie Shook Kasper), Dick Park (Irene), Steven Park (Ed Beck) and Karl Park (Sharon) of Virginia; and her great-niece Abigail Kasper of Cooper Heights.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
