He is survived by: his wife Renee Hemphill; his daughters, Tysa Gattis (Cameron), Lendrail Holloway (James) and Jurea Groomes (Shawne); his stepdaughters, Yolanda Collins, Monica Asherry and Veronica Collins; his sons, Jim V. Brown, III (Annett Clay), Eric Penn (Valene) and Calvin Hemphill; his stepson David Collins (Raie) of San Diego, CA; his brothers, Joe Coonrod, Vongoree Coonrod, Tanzalone Coonrod and Michal T. Clark; his sister-in-law Neva Gregsby; and his friend Joe. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 17 step great grandchildren.
