It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura J. Herndon (Chattanooga, Tennessee), who passed away on September 16, 2018, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Harry J. Herndon; her parents, Katherine London Jones and Henry T. Jones; her brother Gordon London Jones; and also Cardell Chance.
She is survived by: her sister Francis Nelda Katherine Thompson of Apison, TN; and her children, Alan Chance (Barbara), William Chance, James Chance (Lynn), Charles Chance (Maria), Laura Akins (Fred), Joyce Freire, Janice Swope, John Herndon, James Herndon (Marie) and Jessica Wunderlich. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
