It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lamar Rankin Sr. in Chattanooga, Tennessee, born in Athens, Tennessee, who passed away on July 17, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, E. Bruce Rankin and Mamie Lee Cate Rankin; his sister Margaret Rankin Gladney; and his daughter-in-law Katrinka Byrd Rankin. He is survived by: his wife Martha Ann Whitaker Rankin; his children, Bruce L. Rankin, Jr. and Betsy Rankin Christensen (Harold); his grandson Bruce L. Rankin, III; and his nephew Doug Gladney. He is also survived by two step grandchildren and their spouses and six step-great grandchildren.
