She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Joesph and Kathleen Carey Byrnes; her husband Walter Griffith Davies, Jr.; and her brother Jim Byrnes. She is survived by: her children, Griff (Karen), Mark (Tina), Anne, Barbara Claire (Jerry Dausman), Katie Abrash (Allan), Martha Leiper (Mike), Laura Haynes (Billy), Joe (Maria), Helen Schwab (Jim), Sarah Lanese (John) and Jim (Ruth); and her sister Barbara Marcus of John's Creek, Georgia.. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine at a later date due to Covid-19 followed by interment at the columbarium on the church property.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Katharine's name can be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church, Notre Dame High School, Hospice of Chattanooga or Alzheimer's Association.
