She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lapp and Katherine Lapp. She is survived by: her husband Tom Barthel; her children, Mark Barthel of San Francisco and Gretchen; her son-in-law Tim Jones; her sister Nancy; and her brother-in-law Lowell Hanke of Antigo, WI. She is also survived by her Grandcats, several Nieces, Nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mary Ellen Locher Breast Care Center.
