He was predeceased by: his parents, Thelma Morris and J. Owen Morris; and his daughter Janet Benefield. He is survived by: his wife Joy Morris; his daughters, Jayne and Julie Morris; his granddaughter Kelly Carmichael (Stephen); his great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sean Carmichael; his son-in-law Brian Benefield (Sherah); and his siblings, Jerold Morris, Ann Harrison, Sharon Morris and Sara Swearingen (Bill). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph's honor to Morris Hill Baptist Church.
