He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley Owens, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Crawley Owens; and his grandson Douglas Allen "Trey" Thomas III. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Jean Sallach Owens of Chattanooga, TN; his daughter Deanne Michelle Thomas (Douglas Allen Thomas, II) of Ringgold, GA; his siblings, David Hartman of Ooltewah, TN and Linda Roberts of Dalton, GA; his grandchildren, Courtney Elizabeth Thomas, Emily Thomas and Bentley Thomas; and his great grandchild Sophia Isabella Thomas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
