He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Laurel James and Hubert Erwin; his brother Louis "Kayo" H. Erwin; and his grandson Patrick Erwin. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Erwin; his children, Carol Carden (Chris), Gary Erwin (Cheryl) and Tim Erwin (Marlene); his grandchildren, Chris Smith (Paul), Katie Thompson (Wes) and Kyli Erwin; his great grandchildren, Alley Thomas, Layla and Margo Smith; his great great grandchild Benjamin Thompson; his adoptive daughter Deborah White; and his siblings, Tommie Kaye Layman, Shirley Cofer, Betty Scott and Paul Erwin. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and several close friends.
