He was predeceased by: his parents, John Freeman Neikirk and Edith Cecilia Hussey Neikirk; his son Christopher John Neikirk; and his brothers, Richard Allen Neikirk, Walter Neikirk and Charles "Mickey" Johnston.
He is survived by: his wife Iona Louise Pugh Neikirk; his children, Eric James Neikirk (Candi), Lorrie Neikirk Anderson (Verlon Liles) and Mandy Neikirk Shearer (Robert); his sister Judy Sobeck (Tom); his grandchildren, Zane, Chase, Peyton, Logan, Maddox, Amelia and Clara; and his great grandchild Nolan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
