It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Michael Thurman of Chattanooga, Tennessee, born in Miami, Florida, who passed away on June 1, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Thurman and Crystal Alge Cargile; his stepfather Felix Cargile; and his sister Crystal McSpadden. He is survived by: his wife Susan Lovern Thurman; his children, Marla H. Thurman, Kelly D. McCary, John Michael Thurman, II and Matthew Thurman (Mikal); his stepchildren, Kent Lovern and Kerri Day; his grandchildren, Adam Templeton, Emily Templeton, Damian Thurman and Jaxon Thurman; and his great grandchild Lynnon Templeton.
Because of the COVID-19 issues, a memorial service at Legacy Funeral Home will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the McKamey Animal Shelter, 4500 N. Access Road, Chattanooga, TN 37415.
