She was predeceased by: her parents, William Smallwood and Ida Smallwood; and her husband Jesse Lee Sims. She is survived by: her children, Sonya Sims and Samuel Sims (Charisse); her grandchildren, Jordyn and Jessica Sims; her sister-in-law Mozell Thaxton; and her nieces, Latonya Peter (Peter) and Valerie Jennings. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
