He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruel Lee Swanson and Helen Swanson (Dejournette); his daughter Dovie Swanson; his grandson Tracy C. Kocher; and his brother Larry Swanson.
He is survived by: his son James "Jim" Lamar Swanson; and his grandson Ryan Swanson (Ellen). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
