James Etta Overton Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Etta Overton (Chattanooga, Tennessee), who passed away on December 13, 2019. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Etta Overton to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bonds and Carrie Bonds; and his siblings, Melvin Bonds, JoAnn Perry, Betty Swafford, Alvin Bonds and Brenda Bonds.

He is survived by: his husband Alfonso Overton; and his children, Alfonso "Chip" Overton and Myra E. Overton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Overton requested that memorial contributions be made to the Phillip's Temple CME Building Fund, 1321 North Moore Road, Chattanooga, TN 37411.
