He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son James Jr.; his wife Johnnie Mae Wells Elligan; his mother Annie C. Simmons Elligan; his siblings, Ceola Solomon, Maria E. Robinson, Rev. Irvin Elligan Sr. and Donald Elligan Sr.; and also Jerry Terry of St. James. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as 1 niece, 5 nephews, several grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and family friends.
