He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora Belle Hoover and Alton Hoover. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Bradford Hoover; his sons, David Hoover (Glynis) and Phillip Hoover (Ed Westreicher); his grandson Zachary Hoover; and his siblings, Harold Hoover (Emmajean) and Alene Southard.
