He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurman W. Payne and Celestine Payne; and his sister-in-law Jean Wood (Hewitt). He is survived by: his children, Eileen Ransom (Jim), Ed Payne (Mary Lee) of Birmingham, AL, Karen Carden (John), Jean Payne, Joann Marshall (Edward) and Joe Payne; his grandchildren, Tripp Ransom (Stephanie), Alicia Debity (Jamie), Amy Hall, Hailey Jolley (Cole), Will Payne, Ben Carden (Ali Allerton), Rob Carden (Suzy), Payne Carden (Cece), Tee, Jack Boone, Jake and Sam Payne; and his sister-in-law Ann Thompson (Jim). He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and countless friends.
