He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston B. Leonard, II and Eva Leonard; his stepchildren, Gregory Kinard and Alva Kinard; and his siblings, Philippa Foster and Ernest Leonard.
He is survived by: his wife Murrel Leonard; his children, Kay Hatfield (Jerry) and David Leonard (Melissa); his stepsons, Jeffrey Kinard (Cindy) and Jerome Kinard (Tracy); his stepdaughter-in-law Joan Kinard; his grandchildren, Hannah Gunter (Matthew), Ben Leonard and Kelsie Leonard; and his brother Preston B. Leonard, III. He is also survived by six step grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
