He was predeceased by: his daughter Gwen Crutcher; his parents, Gatha Mai Johnson (Neal) and Georgie Lee Johnson; and his siblings, George Richard Johnson, Rev. Grady Elven, Gene Allen Johnson and Gladys Ophelia Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Denise Johnson (Lyons); his children, Kimberly Bell Hurley (Johnson), Veronica Ann, Gordon Ogilvie Johnson (Flash) and Gregory Johnson (Lisa); and his sister Gatha Joe Ester Eubanks. He is also survived by two grandsons, six granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the John P. Franklin Funeral Home (1101 Dodds Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at the Hamilton Memorial Gardens (5351 TN-153, Hixson, TN 37343).
