He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father George Herman Higgins; his wife Sandy Higgins; his children, Scottie Higgins (Michelle) and Misty Bowman (Randy Hess); his stepchildren, Rick Ward (Shawnee) and Shirley Dematteo (Damian); his grandsons, Scottie Lee, Austin, Brandon Higgins (Memphis) and Dakota (Phoenix Bowman); his great grandchildren, Mallory Higgins and Ace Dillon; his mother Mildred Spain (John); his sister Rhonda Stiles; and his niece Jamie Stiles.

Due to COVID-19 concerns the family will have a Celebration of Butch's Life memorial service at date to be announce later.
