Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved George Alan Cooper Jr. (Chattanooga, Tennessee), who passed away at the age of 50, on December 26, 2022. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Laura Asbury Cooper; his children, Kate, Mattie, Landon and Cooper Asbury; his parents, George Cooper and Pat Cooper; his brother Scott Cooper (Molly); his nieces and nephews, Clarke, Austin and Sidney; his father-in-law Barry Goss; his brother-in-law Jason Goss; and his cousin Kate Griffith. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan's honor can be made to National Park Partners – Friends of the Park, Sarah Cannon Cancer Center, and a UTC scholarship fund to be established in Alan's name.
