It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frances L. (Barnes) McPherson of Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jonas Barnes and Della Barnes; her husband James O. McPherson; her siblings, J. D., Raymond Barnes and Beatrice Goggins; and her son-in-law Joseph Brantley.
She is survived by: her daughters, Janet McPherson, Cynthia McPherson Howard and Karen McPherson Brantley; her grandsons, Matthew Howard, Joshua Howard, Aaron Howard and Scott McPherson; and her great grandchild Gabriel Howard.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel (404 S Moore Rd, East Ridge, TN 37412). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery (1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404).
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Fran's memory to Hospice of Chattanooga and Central Church of Christ.
