She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Smith Jr.; her parents, Rex Richey and Mattie Richey; and her siblings, Raymond, Charlie, Joe Richey, Mildred Demars, Sue Harrison and Dot Sertel.
She is survived by: her children, Joe H. Smith III (Teri) of Crested Butte, CO, Jean Murchison (Colin) of Fort Thomas, KY and Jennifer Chennault (Randy) of Chattanooga, TN; her grandchildren, Anna, Alec Chennault, Justin and Sarah Smith; and her siblings, Wilma Dietzen of Chattanooga, TN and Bobby Richey of Ooltewah, TN..
