He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Zack, Sr. and Gertrude Butts; his wives, May Bell, Anne Grace and Pearl Lee; his sons, John Wayne Butts Sr., Melvin Butts and Minister Cedric Butts (Deaconess Suzette) of Norfolk, VA.; and his friend Deacon Elijah Sanders.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Williams of Chattanooga, Nichelle Sanders (Jearld) of Chattanooga, Jimmy Butts of Chattanooga, Ricardo Butts (Loice) of Chattanooga and Timekeus; his daughter-in-law Ariene Butts; his grandchildren, John Wayne Jr., Barry, Waynette, Jermine, Markeita, Qunicy, Timothy Jr., Cedrick, Dedrick, Cardarius, Timekeus Jr., Johnny Jr., Ricardo Jr., Coridon, Amari, Cameron, Farrel, Artuero (Valerie) and Cherrick; his great grandchildren, Dr. DeMario, Brandon, Tevin, Timothy III, Tyson, Jamison, Christopher, Tennyson, Taylor and Timbe; his siblings, Margaret and Edell Butts; his great-nephew Lawson Standerfer; his sister Gwyndnn Bush; his friend Jean White; and also, Deacon Dewie Smartt, Deacon Terrance Clay, Deacon Bill Williams, Deacon Michael Thompson, Elder Cortez Stokes, Elder Eyo Efiom, Pastor Anthony Williams, Elder Lyndon Clay and Detective Cory Stokes. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
