He is survived by: his wife Thelma Wheeler; his sons, Clifton Eugene Wheeler and David Wheeler (Dawn); and his siblings-in-law, Carolyn Moore, Richard and Johnny Gann. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
