He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse James Peterson and Florence Plott Peterson; his wife Edith Marie Cline Peterson; and his siblings, J. L., Harlan, Tom Peterson Jr., Louise Blevins and Jamie Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Peterson (Jean), Kathy Oliver (Jerry), Mike Peterson, Monty Peterson, Richard Peterson and Tina Giles (Brian). He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and twenty six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Turner Funeral Home (3913 Webb Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37416). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
