It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carrie Brummitt (Chattanooga, Tennessee), born in Camp Hill, Alabama, who passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Doss and Essie Doss; her husband Young Henry Brummitt; her son Robert Brummitt; her siblings, Flora Stroud, Mildred Torrence, Woodfin Doss, Arthur Doss Jr. and Curtis Doss; and her grandchildren, Jacqueline Brummitt and Timothy Johnson.
She is survived by: her sons, Melvin (Janice) and Alfred Brummitt (Cynthia); her siblings, Louise Freeman and Calvin Doss; her grandchildren, Dr. Kenyetta Brummitt (George Sean), Lamar Jones (Bridget), Melvin Brummitt, Jr., Kristi Brummitt (Sarah), Kimberly Brummitt, Jamaal Brummitt, Delicia Brummitt and Alicia Trammell-Brummitt; her great grandchildren, Lakievia Smith, Sha'Mel Brummitt, Khadijah Brummitt, Rashad Brummitt, Ryheem Brummitt, Akiem Brummitt, Rakedra Brummitt, Jene Byrd, Ahmaad Tanner, Jamayah Brummitt (Daniel), Indiyah Rogers (Taneisha), Timia Mobley, Rhiannon Giles, Mason Butler, Jaden Trammell-Brummitt and Lauren Tucker; and her niece Natalie King. She is also survived by great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
