He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Kanipes and Bernice Kanipes; his grandparents, John, Heddie Kanipes, Walker and Molly Long; his sons, Lloyd and Michael Kanipes; his siblings, Eloise Kanipes, Juanita Pugh, Katheline Smith, Martha Turnbill and Kenneth Kanipes; and his great grandchild Jacob Duncan.
He is survived by: his wife Etta Jane Green Kanipes; his children, Diann Mullins (Butch) of Ringgold, GA., Valerie Duncan (Tim) of Clinton, TN. and Bart Eaton of Chattanooga; his grandchildren, Justin, Christopher Mullins, Jason, William, Ashley Duncan, Laura Ramasamy, Jeremy Kanipes, Mary Koons and Braden Kanipes; and his great grandchildren, Grace, Elias, Josiah, Ella, Cade, Zoe, Logan, Ethan, Cole, Sophia and Meredith.
